Clgify reviews every listing, but a few habits keep you safe in any campus deal. Read these before your first meetup or PG visit.
Meeting for a buy or sell
Meet in daylight in a busy campus spot — gate, library, canteen or hostel lobby.
Take a friend along, and tell someone where you're going and when.
Inspect and test the item fully before paying — power it on, check the charger.
Visiting a PG, flat or room
Visit in person before paying anything. Check water, power backup, washroom hygiene, kitchen and locks.
Ask for a written rent agreement and a receipt for any deposit.
Confirm the actual distance from campus using the map pin on the listing.
Payments
Never pay an advance or token amount to hold something you haven't seen.
Avoid paying to a random personal UPI ID on the promise of a "confirmation".
Be wary of prices far below market — that's the most common scam signal.
Community guidelines
Be honest in your listings, respectful in your messages, and prompt about marking items sold. Harassment, fake listings and spam get accounts suspended. Report anything suspicious to our helpline and we'll review it.
